Avatalk turns a photo and your words into a talking video. Here are answers to common questions, and a person to write to.

What are credits?
Credits are seconds of finished video: a ten-second video uses ten credits. Extras such as an HD version, a restyled look or a voice of your own cost a stated number of credits. New accounts don't start with free credits; if you have never bought any, there is a small one-time trial pack to try the App.
Do credits expire?
No. Credit packs are one-time purchases and stay on your account until you use them. There is no subscription and nothing to cancel.
Is “Hear it first” free?
Yes. Listening to how your words will sound before you make the video costs nothing.
Why is there a limit on how long a video can be?
The model that animates the face accepts up to about 30 seconds of audio, so each video is capped near that. The App shows the length as you write, so you know before you start.
How long does a video take?
Usually a couple of minutes. It can take longer when the service is busy. You can leave the App while it works — the video finishes on our side and will be waiting in your library.
My video failed. Was I charged?
No. A video that fails costs nothing, and you can tap Retry to try again. A video uses its credits when it has been made; if it never reaches your phone within 7 days, the credits are returned automatically. HD versions and restyled looks are paid when you start them and returned automatically if they fail.
Why couldn't my photo be restyled?
The image service runs its own safety check and sometimes turns a photo down without saying why. You aren't charged. Try another look or another photo.
How do links work?
When you share a video as a link, anyone with the link can watch it, and reply with a video of their own. A link works for 30 days. To end it sooner, open the video and tap Stop sharing, or delete the video. People who already saved the video keep it.
How do I report a video someone sent me?
Use Report on the link page or in the App. The video is hidden at once and we review it within 48 hours.
How do I delete my voice?
In Settings, tap Delete my voice. The App stops using it at once, and the recording of the permission you read is deleted with it.
How do I delete my data?
In Settings, under Danger zone, tap Delete my data. It removes your uploaded photos, videos, drafts, projects and links, on your phone and on our servers, and keeps your credits. Photos and recordings uploaded to make a video are also deleted automatically after 72 hours. To delete everything, including your account, email us with your support code. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what is kept and for how long.
I had a subscription. What happened to it?
Avatalk no longer sells subscriptions — it uses one-time credit packs. If you still have an active subscription it keeps working, and each renewal adds credits to your balance. You can cancel any time in the Subscriptions section of your iPhone Settings.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds go through them — visit reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds a purchase, the credits it added are removed. If something went wrong in the App, email us as well and we'll help.
